What kind of survey report should I have?
Free valuation
RICS Level 2 property surveys (Home Buyer Reports) ordered through Completely Moved include a free property valuation.
RICS Level 3 building surveys do not include a property valuation as standard, but your surveyor will be able to provide a valuation if you require.
Peace of mind
Your survey can identify issues like structural defects, maintenance needs and provide an unbiased assessment of the overall condition of the property. Armed with an impartial survey report, you proceed with a fuller picture of the property, and renegotiate the price or require repairs to be completely before the purchase completes.
How much do surveys cost?
Home survey prices vary based on the survey type and property size, with Level 1 Surveys being the most affordable.
Level 2 Surveys offer a more detailed yet still cost-effective option, and the most comprehensive Level 3 Surveys being the most expensive. You can obtain an instant property survey quote here.
Could a home survey actually save me money?
Yes, a RICS home survey could potentially save you money in several ways.
Research carried out by RICS showed that an average bill of £5,750m awaited the 4 in 5 homeowners that purchased a home without a survey. It is now commonplace to renegotiate the purchase price based on an adverse survey.
A comprehensive survey might also prevent you from buying a property with significant, costly issues, saving you from a potentially bad investment.
